Honey bought her 'Bota near new in 1985, and has been beating up on it ever since; it's rode hard but Never put away wet.
It lifts, drags, pulls, scrapes, digs and more when water is wet, then moves lots of snow after it freezes.
It gets TLC maintenance, there's around 1K hours on the clock, and it was running great as usual until a few days ago…
Time to plow again. She did the pre-start checks, fired it up, moved it out of the garage so the engine warms up while cycling the hydraulics.
After plowing about 10 minutes, something started Squealing: here's the symptoms
low RPM's = nothing
high RPMs, no load = nothing
high RPMs, high range, Reverse = Squeal
high RPMs, high range, 1st gear = Squeal, but perhaps not as frequent
high RPMs, Low range, Reverse & 1st gear = nothing for quite some time, then finally started squealing, but not nearly as loud
Whether squealing or not, there's No Change in operation; engine, hydraulics behave as usual, no indication of a dragging brake, or Anything.
I wondered about a bearing in the generator or water pump, but those should relate to RPMs, not load / movement.
Backing up squealing with the hood raised, haven't been able to locate where its coming from…
At this point, I don't have a clue where to start; all I know is it sounds Bad & I don't want it operated until I've fixed it.
I've attached a short recording, perhaps someone may recognize the sound
I do sincerely appreciate any thoughts on what could be causing this problem!
