hitch reciever on box scraper

Would bolting this on to the back of my box scraper be a good or bad idea? My plan is to use it to move and spot my boat and other trailers.

Welcome to OTT.

That isn't a hitch receiver that an insert fits into. It IS an insert for mounting a pintle hook hitch. But, it could be bolted to a box blade, then a hole drilled in it for mounting a ball, and used to move trailers and crack shins.

Thanks for the welcome. I've got a lot to learn! Judging from photos only I thought that was a hitch receiver. Looks like the post from Lil Foot has another solution.

I welded this receiver in my box blade. It uses a 2” drawbar that is held in place by a pin just like a receiver on a vehicle. Sorry this picture is prior to it being painted.....

I was planning on building small carry-all when I came accross a hitch mount one for less than I could buy the material. Now I admit it's a little bit of overkill on a BX25 but it's easy on off and I can use it on the truck when needed.

I just welded a piece of angle iron on back of my scrape box and installed a ball.
