I've noticed alot lately that some of you folks are concerned about mowing on a hillside with their tractor and worried about rolling over. I'd like to suggest maybe look into purchasing a Toro mid-size walk behind. The Toro walk behind is one of the toughest mowers I've ever owned and use in my business. It handles hills very well both up and down and sideways. I used a Proline 14hp with a 44 inch deck and its an awesome mower. I've had mine sine '99 which back then cost me about $4500. I spend an additional $250 and went with a stand on two wheel velke so I could ride behind it rather then walk. I also spec'd mine out with a gear drive transmission and a floating cutting deck.

Take a look if anyone is interested

Reminds me of the story of the side-hill goat....

D'you know, doc," he said gravely, "that you remind me of a side-hill goat?" "Ah," murmured the man of learning, "is it possible? And what, Mr. Daniels, is the nature of a side-hill goat?"
"It's a goat that's got the legs of one side shorter than the legs on the other side, and the only way he can get to the top of a hill is to keep trottin' around and around the hill like a five percent grade. He goes a mile to get ten feet higher."

It was the subject of a Paul Bunyan story.

Eddie you were pretty much the one I had in mind when I posted this thread, but I do remember seeing a few other people asking questions about mowing on hillsides.

If you can afford one or get it fianced I strongly suggest geting a Toro walk behind. It has faster ground speeds, turns on a dime, user friendly controls and steering and all around tough as nails. Mine fell off the back of my trailer one day at about 25mph, hit the street I pulled the cord fired it up drove it back onto the trailer and keept on cutting with it ever since and that was 8 years ago.

Eric, I appreciate the thought for sure, I have been building up the edges of the ditch to make the area a little safer to mow on. The 400ft of road out front only needs maybe half of that to be repaired for tractor travel. I would love another mower but I had to justify buying the new one and got rid of the old Craftsman riding mower last night in fact. By the time I get done with the ditch it should look great and be much nicer to ride on. There must be some people on here that could use a slick lookin’ mower like that though! Great topic Eric, thanks for the advice man!
