We have a Kubota ZG327 that we've had for several years.

Last season - the left tank would cause the motor to sputter and eventually stop. We figured it was something in the tank/fuel line. We ran off of the right tank.

On our first mowing of this season, now the right tank is doing the same.

We have changed the fuel filters.

And, suggestions???? HELP!!!!!

They can do that if the outlet get plugged, but they can also do that when the vent in the cap get plugged, check that too.

Check both the outlets for the fuel delivery and bypass return.
Some don't have the bypass going to the tank, they have it going to the fuel filter so check there too.

Have you got a manually operated valve to switch tanks? Sounds like a piece of trash in the valve and perhaps trying to move through the valve.

Be certain you have a supplemental fuel filter in line between the valve and the engine.

Per other poster, check all lines, inside of tanks, and caps for vent (some caps have screw vent).

Could be a tiny air leak in fuel line that will suck air but not visibly drip fuel.

Please post back your ongoing efforts so we may all learn.

If you haven't checked, there may be a second filter per tank. I have a ZD and found the second inline filter the hard way. It was out of sight behind body parts. It's the closest to the tank and clogs first. If your machine has dual tanks, it could possibly have 4 filters total. I can't guarantee that's the problem but it's the only fuel flow possibility that makes sense to me.

carburetor problems

I purchased a ZG327 zero turn mower in August of 2008. I am having carburetor problems and learned through a local dealer of a recall for faulty carburetors. I did not receive a recall notice. I contacted Kubota directly and was told that my machine received a replacement carburetor before it was sold to me. I can't prove it, but I am doubtful. Is there any way to prove that it did receive a new one? I have only 140 hours on it and I'm not happy about having to replace the carburetor. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I replaced the carb on a friends ZG327 and it lasted 2 years and he always runs non-ethanol fuel with stabilizer and it just flooded the engine crankcase with fuel again and kubota is telling me there you cant buy a carb overhaul kit you can only buy an 800 dollar carb for them

A manual fuel shutoff is never a bad idea, especially when the fuel tanks are higher than the carb.

Maybe your dealer told you about the carburetor, but Kubota did not. There is a huge difference between what the dealer said and what Kubota said.

Kubota had nothing to do with the design or manufacturing of the engine. Kubota bought it from the manufacturer and installed it in their unit.

The carburetor kit and complete carburetor are readily available from the engine manufacturer.

I believe Kubota built that engine themselves. At least that is what they told us and I haven't seen any examples of it on any other equipment. I actually have a few of those original carbs that I changed out.

I think the engine is produced by Kohler, and built for Kubota. Kubota did not have a manufacturing facility for spark ignition air-cooled engines until they bought the Subaru engine rights a few years ago.

The carburetor can be procured from another source other than Kubota, I just don't remember where it was from.
Now that Kohler's engine decision has been sold, all bets may be off.

Could be, Kubota definitely didn't make the carburetor! That said it shouldn't be that hard to fix a leaking float valve.
