I recently aquired a B2410, with the intention of finding a 54" or 60" belly mower and using this primarily as a mowing tractor for my little parcel of land.

However, entering the world of tractors is confusing. From what I can tell, I need an RCK style deck, but in looking around, finding the mounting brackets has proven to be challenging at best.

Is there anywhere, aside from a dealership, that one can look to procure a mounting bracket kit for a belly mower?

Finding a used mid mower can be tricky and can take time to find everything you need. Everybody seems to want them and those people who happen to have them dont really sell them. Have you considered the much easier and cheaper rear mount finishing mower for the 3pt hitch? SOOO much nicer to pull 3 pins and drop the pto shaft and your free.

I've thought about a pull behind finish mower, but it won't be nearly as practical for most of the area I need to mow versus a belly mower. I'm not totally against the idea though, just weighing out my options.

What are some of the areas do you think you might have problems with? Tight quarters or low hanging tree limbs? If its low tree limbs prune them back so you can mow under them easy. Ask fellow member Skeets about that one as he broke his arm.

For me it will be tight quarters in the back yard. A few areas would be a pain with a pull behind, but probably only the first few times.

I actually have decided on pull behind - found a nice used Land Pride that I"m going to negotiate on this weekend. Turns out that in order to get the brackets for a belly mower, buying a new complete mower from the dealer is pretty much the only option. The Land Pride will set me back about half of that cost, so it moved to option #1.

That and though I have a mid PTO engagement operator on my tractor, I'm not sure I have the cannister installed. That would add another chunk of change to a belly mower option.

Yeah rear mount mowers are always going to be alot cheaper. Once you get the hang of operating it you'll see its really not all that bad.

I don't have much in the way of trees, and try to keep them fairly pruned, but I will take your advice for the couple I do have.

Picked the FDR 1660 (even the same orange as my tractor) up Saturday. After about an hour going over it and getting it hooked up, it worked like a champ. Had the yard mowed in about 4 hours or so, and with my riding lawn mower that took me at least 6 or 7. A good hour of that time was figuring out cutting height preferences.

Which brings me to my newest dillemma: my 3 point doesn't work. Pretty sure it's because the hydraulics are ran all kinds of jacked up on this tractor, but finding ANY information on proper routing of lines from the FEL block (75540-61013) to the various ports on my tractor has proven to be near impossible.

Kubota sure does suck with providing information, and it seems like getting a simple diagram telling me that a line should run from this port to that port is farking harder than it should be.

Yeah thats going to be the next headache to deal with. My thoughts are if the previous owner bought a loader later down the line and decided to install it himself theres no telling how he plumbed the hydraulicks to power the thing. Have you looked in the article section on here and read about the hydraulics?

I've looked through the articles. Hell, I've looked pretty much everhwhere without any luck.

Even asking questions I seem to hit brick walls with other Kubota owners. I'm guessing that it must be some rite of passage to figure it out yourself.

Ok, here is what I have.

I've included a picture of the valve, the two front ports on the tractor and the rear port on the tractor. Each picture is labeled with how the hoses are currently routed, which is obviously not the correct way. I'm guessing that it's probably a matter of switching 1 or two hoses over to the correct ports, but I don't know which ports they are.

The blade is actually a 4 way blade, not a 6 way. I have 2 cylinders on it for up/down and angle left/angle right. The only issue with this is that the joystick is backwards on the up/down - it should be pull back on the joystick, blade goes up. But it's opposite on that aspect only. I can live with this as the blade is temporary anyway, though if it's a simple fix to get it correct I'll do that too.

Let me know what you think.
