Heated seat pad?

For a small amount I purchased a heat Element for my off-road buggy and installed in my existing seat. Got really warm
Years ago I installed a heated pad in my motorcycle that looked like this one.
It has worked great ever since.

I purchased this 12 volt unit from Amazon several years ago for $20 and it has held up really well.
It plugs into the 12 volt receptacle at the base of the seat on my BX.
They no longer have a link to it from my purchase history but I'm sure it would still be available.

Do you undo the seat cover to install the heaters? If so, wouldn't it be easier to use one of those pads like folks set on at the football games?
