I am just totally miffed about my Kubota for sale. First off, I live in the land of retirees, Florida, so maybe that's it? I have an early 90's B1750HST, 2WD, 20HP. I have owned the tractor for 2 years and love it but wife is getting transferred to another state, and I really didn't want to drag it with me. It loooks a little rough because the previous owner decided to try and be a body and paint man...didn't work so well. It runs perfect and doesn't leak a drop. I have an almost new Bush Hog RDTH-72 finish mower with the package, along with a Woods 4ft brush hog. Mower alone is worth $1500! I put an ad on Craigslist 2 weeks ago for $2500 for the complete package. I haven't gotten 1 inquiry!! Am I the only one who sees this as a good deal? Is Craigslist the wrong place to advertise it? Any suggestions would be great. Moving soon, and I refuse to just give it away.

I looked at your ad and everything looks pretty darn good to me. My Sister lives over in Venice and if I lived there, I would jump on that, 2 wheel drive and all. However, it is after all, very close to Christmas and is Winter so it is the slow time to be selling, even in Florida. Be patient if you can. That set-up would make a nice package for someone with a few acres or even someone wanting to clean it up a bit and resell everything separately.

Obummercare is also on the horizon, so people are probably being more shrewd about spending.
You know the tractor, and appreciate the fine mechanical specimen that it is. A shopper looks at the appearance, so that is probably hurting your sale.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Paul. I guess maybe it's a bad time of year. I wanted a Kubota forever when I live in Connecticut, but could never afford one. Found this Kubota down here and use it all the time on my 3 acres. She's fantastic. Moving to Maine in March, hate the thought of renting a uhaul trailer to drag it 1600 miles, but I will before giving it away. I know someone would buy her up there even if it's only 2wd, just for the fact of the Kubota diesel engine.

Looks like Kubota's in your neck of the woods are going for CHEAP, I seen several on your area Craigs list that I would snatch up in a second if it were closer.
Your tractor up here would sell for about $3K, if it was 4 wheel drive even more.
One thing that might help is put some pictures of the motor (even if it's dirty and rough looking) on you posting to help sell that it's a Kubota, With no Kubota labels on the hood it looks too plain Jane.

I looked at your ad, and the tractor looks as described. I would play down the cosmetic, and focus on the mechanical; I would take the word "restore" out of the description- that insinuates that the the tractor might need to be restored, when in fact it doesn't.
I cruise craigslist a lot, and there are key words and phrases that attract my attention, and others that cause me to keep moving on. I would focus on the fantastic mechanical shape, the power and versatility, and the value with the diesel/economical engine, ease of operation, and TWO implements with it. Mention the cosmetic, but don't focus on it. They can judge by the photos if it is major or minor, but focusing on it, or the word "restore" being used, probably leads them to believe that something is worse than the photos are showing.

What they said! I can't add anything...
Thanks for all the good advise. I changed the ad a little and took out the word restore. I've only been here a couple years and prices on many things throw me fits. What you think would be cheap isn't, would you think has value, doesn't! My Kubota doesn't spark any interest. You would think boats would be cheap here, but prices are crazy high. Convertibles are cheap. I use a service van for my work and it's time for a new, or newer. Up North, I could by a nice Ford E250 with 90,000 miles in really good shape for around 6 or 7 grand. Here, you get a work van that looks like it's been through a war with all the dents and scratches, but the best part is they have 250,000 miles! Yet everywhere you look there are white service vans in Florida. Looking forward to moving back North. Sorry to get off topic

I can't even honestly say its close to christmas time or even obamacare. I've tried off an off for a while now selling my B6100 with no luck. I get the typical tire kickers that want to beat you down on price and expect it for free.

I've even tried to list it for sale after taxes and before the Spring yard clean up freenzy thinking thats an ideal time and nope...

There seems to be more Kubotas in Florida than here in Missouri Many More!

I bought my first Kubota used when living outside of Tally in the early 80s'. They were everywhere. Never saw a green tractor, but a few blue one's and a bunch of old 8Ns'.

We also have most folks wanting FEL & 4WD these days..

Then there's Obummercare!

Oh and if ya like the tractor take it with ya!

When we moved to Mo in 1990, I brought the old 2wd L245DT with us. Used it here for another 12 years. That tractor literally wore out three 5' bush hogs! :D

You certainly are not asking too much for the tractor.
If it was 4wd and had a loader you could sell it overnight up here in Ontario. I have been trying to help a friend find one but they are snapped up fast. I would add the engine hours to the advertisement.

If you were trying to sell it out here, (Arizona) you might end up with multiple buyers in a bidding war….

Have you put it on more than one Craigslist site? If you haven't put it on some of surrounding areas to your Craigslist to get a bigger market area. The other would be to post is on Ebay to get a wider area of coverage. With Craigslist, if you only list it in your local one, you limit your exposure, that is why it is good to put it in several listings that are adjacent to you.
