Has anyone used the Kubota hard plastic skid shoes for their snowblower? It looks like I am marking the concrete sidewalks with the stock shoes. Using BX1870 tractor and 2750 blower. Floating blower.
Shoes cost $135 plus shipping which I think is really high.

Your probably right. Maybe some heavy duty caster type wheels would work....I was thinking about adapting a set to my front blade for the same reasons your having... After using it a few times I realized I liked the fact it scraped the driveway clean. It scraped the concrete a little bit at first but it more or less is smoothing the concrete out now...

dmbe have you tried the slit pvc tube over the cutting edge?
My first year with the 2750D and sure beats the bucket. I slit an 49"-1 1/4 pvc pipe and slid it over the cutting edge. I have mostly gravel so the blower really doesn't touch the ground. The stock shoes don't touch the ground for now and I really don't float it much either. I do clear an area for the dogs a couple widths of the blower and float the blower over the grass and it really does a nice job for that. Also another section from the house to the shed where the BX is. Doesn't tear the grass up at all. I do have 2 small patches of concrete that I scrape the pvc edge with the blower but I also have a rear blade I use mostly for that. I'm sure its going to wear but its cheap and could have a spare made up ahead of time. I might try 1 1/2 when this one wears out. Not much action this year compared to last year.

Yes friction so far. The pipe isnt big enough to go over the cutting edge bolts. Maybe the next bigger size will, but its staying on. But again mine dont touch the ground to much. With alot of concrete scraping it may not last, cheap enough to try.
