It may be 1 issue but possibly 2, while in 2 wheel drive when i straighten out from a turn while driving it makes a slight grind noise and also when in 4x4 when it seems to warm up it disengages and engages (loud grind) and the harder you use it (stuck, or use the loader for sand, mud etc) the worst it gets

I'm thinking of taking apart the front axle and checking the gears and possibly take apart the transfer case

Maybe jack up both ends and listen to the machine with a mechanic's stethoscope to see where the noise(s) are coming from with the wheels turning? Try preventing one wheel from turning to see if its gears at the wheel or in the differential, etc

Its is definitely slipping when in 4 wheel drive and i work it or go up hills when it grinds i notice the front tire don't spin then when it engages then they spin
