I picked up a generator from an auction recently with a Kubota D1703 engine with about 9000 hours. It didn't run before purchase but cranked nicely and I was able to buy the machine for a decent price.
At the shop we worked on the fuel injector pump as it seemed the engine was not getting fuel properly. We cleaned up the injectors and checked the fuel solenoid and everything seemed pretty good there.
We have power to the glow plugs.
We checked the low oil shutoff switch and it works as well as the temperature sensor.
I am hoping to do a compression test soon but it seems to have decent compression.
As I said the engine cranks well and produces grey/black smoke but it just won't fire.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
