Hi all,

I am currently making a carry-all for my B8200. The max capacity from Tractor Data.Com rates the max at 24" at 1015 lbs. The owners manual says 800 lbs. Does the rating include the weight of the MMM deck (421 lbs)? What would be the safe limit, say keeping it under 800? I have seen the brochure that Tractor Data based it's numbers on, 1989 printed data. The owners manual is dated 1984.

Thanks for the help

Ron

Make the carry all - and make it so that it CAN carry whatever you need to carry.

Many times the data of limits is measured at 2 different points - with the 3 point, I would not be overly concerned about how "much" I can lift - rather can I lift it and control it once off the ground.

It will tell you quickly that the weight IS TOO much - the bypass valve will kick in and the lift will not lift.

Shoot for 800 in the back of your mind as you build. ;)

You may find that your weight will be limited by your ability to steer.

Without a loader or front weights the front end will want to lift.

I can lift about 400+ pounds with my BX (total including carry all) before the front gets pretty light without the loader on. Few times had front wheels off the ground.

The MMM deck has zero to do with what the 3PH can lift.
If the manual says 800#s, that 800#s includes whatever 'carryall' gizmo AND the 'payload'.
if the carryall weighs 200 #s, then it's 800-200= 600#s for the payload.
Be sure to read if at the end of 3PH arms OR 24" out. I suspect the manual says 'at the end of arms'. At least the drawings in the BX23S manual shows them that way.

Follow the specifications in the tractor Owner's Manual. Tractor data is a place to start but is not to be trusted.

If the owner's manual says 800 pounds it can't be trusted either or let's just say the owner's manual is being mis-interpreted if one believes it to say the B8200 can handle a carryall + load totaling 800 pounds. I've personally moved thousands of round bales weighing between 700 and 1200 pounds and can tell you that a 700 pound bale will pick front wheels up and not get bale off the ground. I wouldn't count on carrying more than 400 pounds on your carryall and you better stay on level ground while moving. Contrary to what U-tube and interweb buds say building tractors overseas and painting them orange DOES NOT change the laws of physics.

The most I see is 400 lbs in it, plus the weight of the carry all around 200 lbs. The next project this summer is the front brush guard and weights, about 150 lbs.
