Hey guys, just out of curiosity do y'all apply anything to your gaskets before reassemble?

Except on head-gaskets I prefer Permatex #2 if/when I use anything at all. I use it on oil, fuel, water, etc.

I use Permatex High Tack Gasket Sealant. It’s a fairly thin product but sticky so that the gasket doesn’t move around while putting together like silicone does.

I like Permatex #3 on coolant related flanges, anti-seize on other gaskets and fasteners, Sil-Glyde on hoses, "O" rings and Loctite #243 or Permatex Orange on critical fasteners. I know what everybody going to say but I used Permatex #3 on my head gaskets and have had good results for over 50+ years.
