Folks:

This tractor is outfitted with an Eaton 11 or perhaps Eaton 1100 HST Transmission . This is way above my pay grade so I turn here for help . My mechanic [ an independent and a fine fellow ] says that the Eaton Pump and the transaxle case appear to be a single unit and that to remove the pump requires removing the transaxle case too . The Eaton manual that some one here kindly provided a couple of years ago doesn't show that to be the case .

The Messick's schematic for the transmission seems to confirm my mechanic but the Shop Manual kindly provided by Messick's seems to suggest the Eaton Pump comes out separately . Do any of you know or have an opinion ? Here is the Messick's drawing :

This baby backs up just fine but won't go forward . So I want to take it out for rebuild at an Eaton authorized shop . If it comes out without the transaxle case the job is simpler and transport to shop is easier .

Obliged for any help .

4 bolts to split the HST from the Rear end, it's not all one unit.

No , just gradually got worse and worse . Due to wife’s health , machine was used only once this season and , once fluid was hot , just stopped pulling ahead altogether . But I would like to hear your thoughts . Thanks .

I have a axle leak on mine and forward gets sluggish before reverse when the fluid gets low. A little air in the system and it starts acting up. Will the wheels roll forward with the rear end off the ground? Fluid level good?

Fluid levels are good ; no leaks that I can see ; fluid doesn’t diminish over time - if so , very little .

Problem developed over two year period . First pulled slow ahead on slight incline . Than gradually worsened so that now doesn’t want to pull ahead at all . I haven’t tried raising wheels to see if will pull ahead with no load at all . Yesterday in mechanic’s shop on concrete , all it did was make the slightest movement forward and whine .

I gave a copy of the workshop manual that explains the function and overhaul in detail but I don't think I can post a PDF file that large here.
