Two weeks ago I drug a kubtoa g3200 home from the dump. I have some questions regarding the front pto setup and it throwing belts. I mowed for about an hour after brining it home, then one belt ripped and the other jumped the pulley. Now they appear to be newer ish belts, but I don’t know weather they are correct or if someone put the wrong belts on it. I’ve been a Deere guy my whole life and have never really owned a kubota or one this old. I’ll put some pictures of the setup and I’d appreciate it if anyone could tell me if im missing something or if the belts might’ve been the front size thanks.

Hi,

welcome to Orange Tractor Talks !

The belt system looks very similar to my G1900. I recently shredded a pair of belts too which was a combination of abuse and wrong tension. When they are slipping they get hot and eventually fall apart.

So... first of all you need the correct size. Then you need a matched pair. Kubota uses Mitsuboshi belts, they are so precise that matching is not necessary. And the PTO belt tensioning mechanism has to be adjusted properly. In case of my tractor this is done by adjusting the PTO wire so that the spring at the side has a certain length when PTO is engaged. And make sure the idler wheel mechanism does not hit an end stop first, negating the spring force, this was wrong on my tractor too intially.

Check tension after a few hours and correct if required. Check the operators manual of your tractor, you may find it on kubotabooks.com

Good luck, and by the way: nice tractor !

P.s.: if you got it from a dump I would do a full service, change all fluids and filters and do all adjustments on tractor and deck. Easily done and not very expensive and saves expensive repairs. Operators manual has all the details for that too.
