Fuel shut off timer issues on rtv900

Started my rtv900 after the winter for the first time in a few months.

It started fine, but after 30 minutes of use, I tried to shut it off with no success.....
I took the key out and it was still running.

I shut the engine manually operating the fuel shut off solenoid.

But after that event, I was not able to start it again. Nothing happens when I turn the key, like there is no electricity, only a weird noise coming from the fuel shut off timer relay for a few seconds when I switch from on to off with the key.

Any idea where to start troubleshooting?
or....if the timer relay is bad....does it prevent any electricity to flow everywhere?

Start by going to the site linked below and download the WSM for your RTV900.

Next check for a blown 5 amp fuse which is associated with the timer relay. If it is blown the engine will not stop with the key.
The WSM will show you how to check the timer relay on page 8- S15.
As for the current NO CRANK condition, usually it is a battery, or battery cable situation.
Lately a number of owner found their ground cable connection to the chassis was poor. Removing that connection and cleaning the surfaces often fixed the issue.

If any of your battery cables have ends like this one, replace the cable.

The reason it would not shut off is you have an electrical problem as the engine does not need current to run, but it does need current to shut off. The noise you heard was from low voltage trying to activate the stop solenoid.
Check the system as Dave has suggested.

Really a beginners issue. Dave you were rigth on.

The issue was that the connector on the NEG terminal of the battery was corroded like on your picture.
It somehow started fine, but the connection must have degraded during my first run....and that why it would not shut off or I was hearing the weird noise in the timer relay.
all works fine now after replacing the connector
