Fuel gauge stuck empty

B7610HST fuel gauge reads MT regardless of fuel amount. Was stuck on full. Have replaced sending unit. Disconnecting and touching positive to a ground, gauge jumps to full. No obvious wire problems.

I would appreciate some help.

Hook up the gauge pickup wire to the output of the sending unit, turn on key, and then jump from sender body to ground, be patient as some gauges move slow.
If that works you have a bad ground wire to sending unit.
