Front Wheel Knuckle Shaft Broke

Hello Orange Tractor Experts,

I was just out on my Father-In-Laws 1983 L345 Kubota Tractor when I looked down and noticed something very wrong with the left wheel. What I found was the shaft that connects the wheel to the axle had shorn. Has anyone else experienced this and/or have advice on how to get a replacement? I'm going to try to machine a chamfer and weld the shaft together. Don't know if it will work or not... Too late to get the hay in before the monsoon rain today... Oh well.

Thanks for all the help friends and the picture GWD. I think we've experiencwed the same break... I was able to weld it and get the hay up. Have ordered a new replacement from the local dealer. a.f.
