I plant spring and fall food plots and I use a L4600, works fine.

I have no limitations on paths that i need to drive on, heck a combine will fit but you may be different.

How far if any will you have to haul the tractor, mine is 10 miles. This may be a factor.

Do you have implements now or will you need to purchase if you have them match tractor to them.

Add some details and I'm sure many here can chime in with help spending your money.

What is the best tractor for
Food plots for deer
NONE... Planting food plots for deer is nuts! :p:p:p

Yes that's a funny...

I live in a location where there is plenty of natural food for deer, elk, moose and the such.
One does not need to give them more... even though some people feel the need to feed them bagged corn, I personally call that baiting.

Like others said the size of tractor would depend on the size of food plot you want to work. ;)
