Keep my Stihl in the full plastic carry case in the backhoe bucket, and curl it lightly so it can't work loose

This is the first year with my 1870. My back is singing the praises of the FEL. Have about 4 acres, but 2 are wetland. I typically get a load of uncut wood from tree service guys who sell storm damage trees/branches. I cut and split it. In the past I had to load it into a wagon, drive it up to the front porch, then unload it. This year, while I was splitting, the wife was putting it into the bucket and taking it up to the porch. We raised the bucket up over the porch railing, so we never have to go back and forth to the trailer. Soooo much better.

I usually get what amounts to 2.5-3 cords from these tree guys, for $250. Granted, I gotta do the cutting down to size and splitting, but it seems like a decent deal to me. What do you guys think? I'm sure in their eyes, it's just easy money, having been paid to remove it and then paid again for the wood.

To answere your question, I carry everything (saw, gas, bar oil) in the bucket on my way from the shed to the cutting area. Just curl the buck slightly to keep it secure.

fire wood cutters where do and how do you carry your chain saw, saws to and from the woods?

:D. Al
My wife drives the Mule and I put the chainsaws in the back of it. I drive the tractor with the pallet forks to move the 60" long logs back to the pole barn to cut in 20" blocks and split.

check the Fabrication forum. Search there for Chainsaw. There is a good number of folk who show their Chainsaw holder builds in there.

I work 1 Saturday a month in my heated/ac shop to make money to pay for propane heat. So glad not to have to cut wood anymore.

In Ohio there many dead Ash trees. If you are paying for large logs that have to be split- you are paying to much. I get mine free for the dumping if they are working close. They are making good money for the removal in town. They just want to move on with the dollars to be made in town.

Don't do what I did.
Put saw with bar behind seat and motor between seat and left fender.
Hot muffler melted through the seat vinyl
