soooooooo ... this 1998 L3010hst is amazing. plenty of power for all the things i seem to want to do - atleast, so far. but, one thing that has bugged me a little since i got it is the control stick for the front end loader. there's a silly little flip stop to keep it from moving around while you're driving that jingles while the engine is running, and the stick itself has more slop than i'd really like. it's kinda like driving an older subaru.

i'd like to firm up the control and take the slop out of the lever before i go and start adding things like a 3rd function and rear remotes, and it occurred to me that ... surely ... i'm not the only one that's thought of this. i don't really want to replace the entire valve assembly since it works fine and doesn't leak, but if there's maybe a rubber boot... or maybe a 3 or 4 way spring tension hootis that'd give some resistive feedback on this guy, that'd be ideal. then i could take a grinder to that little hinged plate keeper. with prejudice. like, how's a guy supposed to sleep with all that jingling going on? Santa knows my pain.

I really haven't noticed the lock raddling. Your joy stick doesn't have a rubber boot? My L3901DT has one.

Look at all the linkages (underneath the rubber boot) and you might see some loose nuts or worn joints. Look at Kubota USA dot com illustrated parts lists and search on the loader model for the assembly of the valve and linkage. I imagine something is just loose due to the relative newness of the loader but you can probably still purchase all the linkage parts on the valve.

For the rattle, perhaps install a strong magnet or a rubber bumper to eliminate the contact movement?

There are supposed to be rubber cushions on the lock-out bar.
If they are missing it will rattle.

For the sloop in the control valve that will take some investigative work, then replace or repair those parts.

Ya, I had that problem with my FEL controller.
Replacing parts 010 and 020 (on the diagram above) solved all my problems.
Still got the jingling detant, tho. I like the magnet idea.

For now, battery is on the charger for tomorrow.
