Looking at upgrading to a LX model from a B2601
I am nervous since i have the B01 set up and seems like i’ll be starting over, so hanging onto the B01 for bit.

When i decide to let it go whats best approach figuring out fair market value ?
It would be sold with a FEL standard bucket, MMM , 3rd function, and ballast in R14 tires

down the road but always looking agead.

Fair market value is only what someone is willing pay at the time of sale. Look at items on the Antique Road Show. An item appraised for $10k today may only be worth half that in 5 years if demand is low or maybe 10 times that if demand is high. That said Kubota's tend to hold their value fairly well.

When you're ready to sell search as if you want to buy the tractor in the condition and with the options you have. See what the price range is in your area and list yours accordingly. If your not in a hurry then list it near the top, you can always come down but never go up in price. If your looking for a quick sell than shoot for the lower end of the range.

Look at CL and facebook market place for ideas. Also, look at some of the places online that sell used tractors. Then decide what you want to sell it for.

As mentioned, do the research when you're ready to sell. Sometimes it seems like factors affecting the "value" change almost overnight. An embargo, another Covid, chip shortage, tariffs, labor strike, EPA stupidity, whatever can play a big part.

A good place to START evaluating sales value is tractorhouse.com but be aware that these prices are asking prices rather than selling prices and are considered to be high.

Tractor house is a good one. But like said above those are asking prices. In my experience if it’s a dealer listing they do not negotiate off listed price.
What is “set up” on your B2601 that you wouldn’t have on a new LX?

I'm assuming you'd buy the LX new? If so, I'd ask the dealership for a trade-in price on the B01, then add a bit and list at that. If it doesn't sell at that price you can always take the trade-in. Make sure the trade-in price is standalone - i.e. they're not pushing up the price of the LX to try to give you a higher trade in. So a cash price on the LX, then a cash trade-in price on the B01.

On tractor house you will need an account, which is free ... But you can search for past auctions (not straight sales)

Go to "filter" then select auction results ... This is from my phone.

Then select ...

I bought my JD Z-turn and land pride finish mower from a JD conglomerate dealership ... For less than listed price on tractor house , same with my Kubota tractor from a Kioti dealer, less than listed price on tractor house ...

One thing about searching CL and facebook marketplace. See if anyone else in your area is selling your size of tractor. If not, you can bump up the price. If there are, will give you an idea what you should list it for.

3rd function - ballast tires
Knowing its capabilities wo over stretching it.

That’s not really a lot that you would have to “start over”. Do you have any current implements that would be used on the LX?

I would recommend not trading in because of the money loss. The last one I sold was in spring time and it took 2-3 weeks to sell but I got what I paid for it a decade earlier.

No account needed to search listings.

You really can't expect those upgrades to raise the price.
Those were upgrades for you.

An account is not need to view listings but it is to view listings that have ended. As in what they have sold for.
I use to have an account, but got tired of there constant emails, especially of stuff I hadn't even searched for anything remotely similar!
