Hello, i am from France and may be you can help me. I have a property with 4 acres to mow around my house, but this is more a old meadow than a golf ... lot of mole hole and other bumps and hard clay so if dry, it is like cement ! that's bumpy land and a lot of trees... Before i used a John Deere 855 with 60"deck, excellent mower but i wanted to mow faster so i sold my 855 and bought a used 3680 with 72" deck BUT i forgot a problem, the rear wheels of my 855 were enormous compared to the poor 24x12x12 of the 3680, so the Kubota is a shaker compared to the old JD, after 4 hours mowing my back is broken. I tried to down the pressure at 15PSI but not suffisant, i wanted to know if it will be possible to put some 26x12x12 to win few height and low pressure for more confort. I never need and use the 4WD, so the axles ratio is not a problem i think. And other precision, i have no counterweight, may be it will be better to add 100 lbs for better balanced.. what do you think ?? thank you and excuse my poor english...

I don’t believe the 26x12x12 will fit without fender cutting.

Kubota makes a rear weight, it is needed in my opinion. I can still lift the rear with a quick direction change.

Like most of our operators, maybe you just need to slow down a bit.

Thank you Matt, i think too that the fenders are probably too short for 26x12x12, i will try to measure when i go back home. So in your opinion, i should add a counterweight , how many lbs did you add on your 3680 with 72" deck ? For the speed, i take care of all my tractors, so i adapt the speed but finally i am obliged to mow slower than the 855 and finally i do not save mowing time. Just the big advantage of the 3680 is the maneuvrability particulary around the trees. And an other question, when you mow , you obtain the maximum flotation of the deck with lever in neutral or full forward ?

Not sure of the weight, but Kubota has a weight block that bolts to the rear frame. Something could easily be made I believe.
You can see the weight here.

The lever should be fully forward for float.
I agree, these are great tractors for mowing in and out and around obstacles. Hills as well.

thank you very much for the photos, as you said, i will made a simple bolted frame to support standart tractor weight... really less expensive i think.. The best with the F series will be to adapt two tracks frame instead of front wheels...like a mini Quadtrac..lol and you have the best mower of the world...

Does your mower have any type of suspension in the seat? Can it be adjusted or added?

Change the seat to an air ride seat!
Costly, but it will smooth the bumps right out!

I have the original seat with mecanical suspension adjusted to my weight, but you are certainly right, it will be far better with an air seat, i will see what i can find for reasonable price, that's a part of the solution.

I also have the idea to rent a heavy roller in order to levelling the soil after a little rain when the soil is more smooth...

If you live in an area where temperatures go below freezing, the bumps caused by soil expanding upon freezing will return. Clay soils are described as "frost susceptible," meaning their structure holds water which expands when frozen.

I tried a ride on roller for this issue and it did not help for long + heavy compaction of the soil is not good for any crop including grass.
