Hey all new member here. I have a f2680 mower sometimes I can start the thing and mow for about 20min with no problems no smoke or anything and then it dies and won't start engine temp seams fine. I let it sit then it will start but blows black smoke and a loss of power. Sometimes I start it and it blows black smoke from the get go. Any ideas?

Well i got the machine as is maintenance records state that it was maintained.?
Black smoke means there is to much fuel to the air being supplied. This can be caused by the air filter being clogged and not allowing enough air, injectors leaking or governor on the injection pump.

Pull the air filter and have a look.

Yup.. air filter or an injector hanging up or even a valve in the head.??
I'd pull the air cleaner & run it, to see what happens.. if it does it again, stop & see if u can narrow it down to a specific cylinder by loosening an injector line 1 @ a time & retightening it.. the suspect cylinder will stop the smoke. Good luck.
