I have owned a 1997 F2560 since 2004. Great machine, bullet proof. In an earlier post I mentioned that the forward/reverse treadle will sometimes become sticky and hard to work. I read somewhere that spraying silicone on a moving part in front of the battery, inside the frame rail helps alleviate that, and it seems to.

Recently I acquired a 2004 or 2005 F2560. it has 480 hrs and is in excellent shape. When I went to grease it I found that it did not have what the book for the 1997 one calls a HST neutral shaft. This item has its own grease zerk. It’s in the area of the aforementioned sticky valve or whatever that part is. The hole and the studs to mount the mysterious HST neutral shaft are there, but it’s obvious from the paint on the studs and the surrounding parts there never was one there. Not sure what that part did, or why Kubota stopped installing it? Any ideas?

BTW, I don’t have a book for the 2004. And greasing the HST does not alleviate the sticky shift pedal.

Thanks.
