Exhaust pipe B7100?

What does the factory exhaust pipe--that little piece that runs forward from the muller---look like? Is it mild steel or chrome?
The one that came off the tractor was rusted beyond being reused. I don't mind paying the dealer price if that pipe is chrome or SS, but it seems a bit5 high if it is merely mild steel.
I can't find anything of a similar size in my local auto parts stores. I need 1 5/8" ID to fit over the stub of the muffler and auto parts stores don't have anything that small>
What do you guys use? Or just leave it off?

I'm pretty sure mine was chromed mild steel, but I got tired of breathing fumes and the soot on the FEL, so I flipped the muffler veritcal. From an earlier post:
The exhaust stack was pretty simple- went to local muffler shop, picked out a 5' piece of 1 1/2" tube, (I think, maybe 1 3/8" ?) had them bend it almost 180 degrees, (u-shape) leaving one leg about 3' long. They charged me $20. When I got home, I picked a height, (29" I think) cut the long leg to length, cut curved part to vent exhaust down & away. (and keep rain out) The end that attaches to the muffler outlet needed to be flared (expanded) slightly to fit, but I had the tool. You could probably take the muffler in with you & have them flare it to fit. Then I added a 2nd brace above the stock one as shown in the pic. I think it was 1/8" X 5/8" steel strap. A little flat black hi-temp exhaust paint & you're done.

The one on my L2501 appears to be steel painted a kind of dark gray. You could try a local muffler shop for a piece of the correct diameter. They can probably also provide any curve or routing you want.
