Does anyone here have experience with a rake and riddle bucket on an excavator? I'm trying to decide which would best serve me in "grubbing" duties with my mini ex. Grubbing, brushing and loading out debris/logs etc would be it's primary purpose. Machine has factory thumb (WB I think)

Example:

I'm leaning more towards a riddle bucket style as possibly being a bit more useful than a root rake. I have a 3 foot grading bucket which I use often and seems to be a decent size for my small machine. Maybe a similar sized riddle bucket would do it?

Lots of very light weight rakes for sale on FB marketplace, but few riddle buckets. I've seen a few available from suppliers like Rhinox and Werk Brau but they are quite salty. Any suggestions?

I would go with a riddle bucket over a rake for clean up of various size and types of debris.
It works great on grass, rocks, junk, and small tree debris

I would do a rake if i was doing a lot of larger tree debris.

Each bucket has it's strengths.

If you are planning on a lot of sifting sandy soil to sort out smaller rocks the bucket is better. You need to do a lot of shaking with finer tooth spacing.

If you are grubbing logs and roots in sticky soil the rake is better. Harder to clean small roots with.
