'small potatoes' ?
My MC CC has 19.97% interest rate.Call it 20 for easy numbers...
On a $3000 purchase(a small,economy EA grapple ? ) that's $600 interest in a year !
So.. in 6 months that's about $300 Interest.
That's about 10% of the purchase price of the grapple, that you never ever got
I'd like to think most here would have better things to do with $300 than give to the CC company !

BTW I used American greenbacks, didn't want to convert to Canuck Bucks as I didn't want to scare everyone.

If the item is refunded by the credit card company they also refund the amount of interest that was paid on the refunded debt.

just to toss in my experience now that it's resolved...

I too ordered a grapple in november, and despite an uneasy feeling in my gut, paid upfront, in large part because of a lot of the encouragement on this forum. I found out pretty early about the alleged(now confirmed, seemingly) trouble and when there was no one answering the phone at the EA office I submitted a dispute on Feb 2nd against the charge on my credit card. I was issued a 'temporary credit' within a few hours and then the status of the dispute was at 'under merchant review' with the statement that the merchant had two billing cycles to respond. Well the second billing cycle closed on saturday and this morning I had a letter stating the dispute is closed and the credit will remain on the account. I feel like I was pretty lucky and I guess the moral of the story is to always use forms of payment with some kind of protection, and keep your accounts in good standing. Better yet probably don't buy something that's not in stock. I always pay the balance on my card so I was never charged interest, but the credit stated that it included any interest paid, for what it's worth. The card is managed by chase.

While I'm a bit skittish on it I'll probably go the homestead route for my grapple, I know it's technically payment up front but my brother in law got one last fall and it worked out well for him, and seems to be a nice grapple. Just wish it was as light as the wicked 55 for my b2601, but such is life I suppose.

It is simple math, and they don't do simple math any longer, that is why they have computers that figure out both the simple and complex calculations.

Maybe someone paid their internet invoice ?
Interesting, the webpage has a link to the BBB...
15 complaints, half this year, makes for a good read.

I'm surprised the BBB link hasn't been cut out.Easy enough to do ..5 minutes, $100 kind of job.

Hay , how about someone south of the 49th placing an order online, then 1/2 hr later call to see when it'll be shipped ? maybe those already on order , ask about update on their fully paid for items ??

I noticed that all the equipment for sale is '"sale priced". Possibly they are going to start up again and take orders with 90 day delivery, and say "screw you" to all that are owed equipment that has already been paid for.

Not to sound judgmental (and it's a moot point in view of the following post) but if one buys something that expensive at 20% interest and doesn't pay any of it off for a whole year...just not a good idea maybe.
