3 years after buying my tractor, (2014) I had to replace the battery it came with.
This past week, it died, and I had to replace it again.
In 2014, I bought an O'Rielly's 500a, 3yr, 51R battery for $79, out the door.
This past week, I bought the exact same O'Rielly's 500a, 3yr, 51R battery for $199, out the door.
Damn.

I have two machines that use that size battery. You’re shopping batteries at the wrong place.
Less than $120 at Walmart. (of course, two years ago was half that)

Lest you poo poo Walmart batteries I'm another satisfied user. They have two or three different grades or levels of batteries and in my experience they last a LONG time. I think I got eight years out of my last one which I purchased used from a guy on Craigslist.

EverStart Maxx batteries (Walmart) are absolutely the best bang for the buck, and have been for a long while (made by Johnson Controls).

The 51r are around 75$ at atwoods. I buy a few this size every year, it is a very common Kubota/honda size.

If you're prior service, check out interstate batteries. They sell to me for about 60% of advertised.

I try hard not to give wallyworld any of my money.
Don't have Atwoods in this state.
Not prior service.
Very limited choices where I can buy batteries & such where my cabin is located.
The 4 nearest towns 90mi round trip, 100mi round trip, 150mi round trip, & 150mi round trip.
But thanks for the suggestions. :)

Shopping around was not an option- had building contents out in the open, needed to get building moved,
could not afford to wait.
Besides, we have no mailing or delivery address there.

Yikes. I just bought a Duracell 51R for one of the tractors at Sams club- $109. Best battery prices and availability in my area.

I recently replaced the 26R on my tractor.

Walmart - - $60
AutoZone - - $110
Tractor Supply - - $120
NAPA -- - $160

CCA's were a little different. Don't recall specifics.

Most were 12 or 24 month warranty. NAPA was 78 month, but de-graded after 36.....

I bought the NAPA - - am I an idiot, probably. I've never had an issue with a NAPA battery, and have had many. I've had a couple WalMart batteries for a year, and thrown them out.

Both the one that went bad & this new one were 3yr warranty, and the old one lasted 7+yrs, which I felt was pretty good service for as seldom as i use it, and considering the poor charging system on the B7100.
It lives connected to a maintainer, and I replaced the old maintainer with a new "smarter" one.

How can I get the "prior service" Interstate discount?
From a local Interstate seller?

I have never had a bad battery of any brand. They all have lasted me 6+

I don’t usually have issues with batteries either, but I generally put everything on Battery Tenders and avoid letting them die. I’ve had good luck with BatteryMart.com although I haven’t bought a tractor battery from them.

Nevermind, they don’t seem to sell anything like a tractor battery.
