Hello, new to site, been reading a lot on fuel solenoids and safety switches. I have a 2000 L3130 4wd HST.. First time in 17 years it shut off(while I was not in the seat) brake was set. It was a quick shut down, like electrical not like a fuel issue I guess. I went to restart-just kept turning over. Waited few min, then it started and shut down again few min later. So I checked fuses-all OK. Solenoid is clicking open closed as it should. I had remembered that 1 week prior it wouldn't turn over at all and I really had to mash the clutch hard a couple times, then it started.

I think one or some of safety switch for the seat/pto/clutch/hst may be faulty? I can unplug the seat safety harness and start the tractor. I can engage the pto, while not in the seat, tractor will keep running. I can also (carefully) depress the hst while not in the seat and the tractor will move. But after a few min, the tractor always shuts down.

At first a friend suggested replacing the fuel shut off solenoid, so i did--still same problem. I swapped out the glow plug relay for the relay going to the fuel stop solenoid still same problem.

Not sure what to do next. I have a multimeter, not sure how and where to check those switches.

Thanks

With out being in the seat and pressing on hydro pedal, tractor should die in 1 to 2 seconds. The hydro switch is just ahead of the left rear axle housing, try adjusting it in 1 to 1/2 turns. See if that changes the problem.

thanks for your responses. I wanted to reply to let y’all know I resolved the issue. The seat switch was not at 0 ohms the hst was ok. I replaced the seat switch and the OPC timer. That fixed the issue

Thanks

That tells me it's not a safety interlock because the engine turned over. I'd suspect it a fuel delivery issue. Start at the fuel tank and make sure you have good fuel flow out of the tank. Crud can collect on the tank outlet strainer and restrict fuel flow. Check at the fuel filter inlet, kinked or collapsed hose/tube. Check down stream of the filter ( clogged , iced filter, jelled fuel etc) injector pump inlet (collapsed line/tube) etc.

I am with Bxray.

Download the WSM from Kubotabooks.com. It is an excellent reference and a good way to learn much more about your tractor for the next problem.

Put it on a USB stick, every week or so print out an section and make it bedtime reading.

Owners of Kioti, Mahindra and many other brands don't have access to such material. Even though it is presently on line, having your own copy is a long term strategy.
