I have a 2001 L3710 tractor which the air intake warning light came on. I therefore replaced both the first and secondary filter elements, the light remains on. I am assuming this means the sensor may have gone bad?

I would have sworn my previous L3410 just had the manual indicator right on the air cleaner housing, but I must have been thinking of my ZD mowers. Anyway, according to Messick's parts list the sensor is 15831-11090 for $50.

According to the SM, When the filter is clogged the sensor closes and lights up the light. Since it does not go out, the easy thing is to remove or disconnect the sensor. If disconnected the light will stay out.

You could also get the mechanical indicator as most all other motors have now and replace with a visual gauge. the visual gauge is seen during regular maintenance
