Another shout out to the folks over at Everything Attachments! I ordered my Wicked Root Grapple last Monday, and they somehow got it to me in two days, just before Thanksgiving! I spent all morning on Thanksgiving driving around the property and cleaning up old dead trees!

Awesome grapple. Wicked 60 right? Good to see the EA is back up and running and producing great implements again.

That’s an awesome combination you got there!

I suspect you will find the BH to be awesome ballast (as well as much better than using a shovel) when using the grapple…you should feel very planted when lifting logs and debris.

That grapple looks phenomenally new! Mine came with a dent and some poor paint prep resulting in missing/flaking paint, so I responded by using the heck out of it on rocks. That balanced out the paint look. :ROFLMAO:

They're really strong grapples. My center pin doesn't have grease zerks so if yours also doesn't make sure to manually grease the pins regularly.

I see they added a cross drilled pin to the cylinder/lid pivots. I bought my grapple from them in 2021. I was really happy with the attachment (and still am), except for the really goofy lubrication set up at the outboard pivots. I also was not happy with the response when I asked Travis how the stupid design was supposed to work.

I can't find the picture I took of it, so will try to describe it. A short piece of pipe was drilled, tapped, then a zerk fitting installed. This pipe fit (loosely) between the clevis fitting forks on the end of the cylinders, with an o-ring between each end of the pipe and the clevis forks. While greasing, grease just oozes out of the end of the pipe and does not get anywhere near the pressure points.

When I reached out to Travis at EA, he wrote something like- The grease will get where it needs to be...or something lame like that. Maybe I will reach out to them and see if the current design is retrofittable to my grapple.

Enjoy your new tool.

Well crap now you all have me festering about mine, but mine is raised to the heavens praying for Buckeye victory this evening as I type…As soon as mine comes back down to earth I am going to have to give mine a lookie-loo…damn tractor fanatic cult😉.

i can’t drop it before the game because of the GD SEC championship that SO seems to care about yet knows not a name of player or coach 🙄. And if I drop it during THE game I suspect I will have to wear my down hunting cloths and sleep in the observation tower tonight and hope I get to see some northern lights.

GO BUCKS!

I purchased a Wicked Grapple for my LX2620 back in the Spring. Fantastic piece of equipment, great communication, and a painless transaction.

You will enjoy your grapple. I have the Wicked 60 as well and something about using it makes a man's testosterone go up a few points! My only complaint with EA was the long lead times but it seems they may have taken care of that issue. Customer service is A+ and you can't beat the quality of their products. Enjoy!!

I was wondering if it would be possible for you to post a picture or two of the hinge/cylinder pivots that show detail from above and a close up from each end of the pivot bolt/pin.

I reached out to EA, asking if my grapple can be retrofitted with the current cross drilled pin design.

I would appreciate it,
Doug

I’m coming back to this thread to ask what is the best way to store a grapple? I have basically been setting my EA Wicked grapple down on a pallet and using a 2x4 as a balance beam along the back end. I knew this wasn’t ideal, and yesterday it fell off the pallet and I spent an hour using my pallet forks and a 2x4 as a lever to get it upright again ((there is no way I can physically move this grapple like I could on the one for my B2601).

I was wondering if I drove some t-posts into the ground and then lowered the grapple down so they came up through the jaws, would that keep it upright? Curious how others store their grapples.

I welded up a pin on stand for mine that works well. Prior to that I used to put blocks of wood under the grapple to keep it upright. That also worked but connecting to the grapple was tricky since it wouldn't take much to have the grapple topple over.

The approach I took could be improved upon by having stands at either end of the grapple. I haven't found it necessary yet but it's in the back of my mind as a plan C.

My Land Pride SGC0660 grapple has handy foldup stands on each end. Maybe you could rig up something similar.

There's some nice designs and ideas for both stands and dollies on this site.
Here's my homemade grapple dolly.

Open grapple about 1/2 way, tip forwards till the rear and lid both are contacting the pallet (or the ground), then flip levers and unplug the hoses.

Basically it will be resting like this /\
