Hi so I will be receiving my new bx Thursday morning. I’m very excited. My first tractor of this caliber. My question has to do with being able to tow my log splitter. I picked up a draw bar at the dealer and I grabbed a draw bar lock at tractor supply. Am I on the right track? Do I need these or something else? Will that lock work on my machine? I’m a total rookie when it comes to 3 pt. Hitches. Thanks

If you mean the drawbar that goes between the two lower arms, then you need a rotation lock if you are going to use a ball. It was originally intended for a clevis hitch on a farm wagon.

Will the lock fit your lower arm? You'll have to try it.

Another style is a post that bolts to the center of the drawbar and goes up to meet the top link.

A third style is like the implement side of a three point hitch, with a hitch receiver on the bottom.

My draw bar on my B3200 is just a bar. It has a hole drilled in it to accept a ball for a hitch. 2" ball is what my log splitter takes. You will need to look at the diameter of the hole in the draw bar so you get the right sized shaft on the ball. May be easiest just to take the bar with you to Rural King or Tractor Supply and make sure you get the right size. If you got a draw bar with a ball already attached, then you are ahead of the game.

As for the lock on the bar you purchased, you will just need to try it and see if it fits.

You should not need to do anything with your 3PT hitch to use this other than making sure the lower and upper arms are out of the way and that you do not have any 3PT attachments hooked up. There are a few people that have built carriers that attach to the 3PT and install the ball on to this assembly so they can carry fire wood and pull the splitter as well.

Enjoy your new BX

I purchased a drawbar lock from TS to use on my B7100 and the hole where the sway bar chain attaches was to small. I took my 4in grinder and performed surgery on the lock, enlarged the hole and it works like it was intended to work. The red clay in N GA sometimes gets the best of my 2wd truck so I use my tractor to maneuver my 14ft trailer around the yard to avoid getting stuck.

There is (probably) a drawbar option that bolts under the tractor that you can look into.

This is a fixed drawbar and safer than anything on the 3PH for pulling heavy loads.

If all you plan on pulling is light then you should be fine with what you have
