I've got a small 4' disk with friction bearings. I picked it up for $350 on craigslist for food plotting and to simply learn on. Now, I've decided to get a bigger disk but I'm trying to decide what type of bearings I want to get on the new one. My axles don't turn as smoothly as my uncle's sealed bearing disk but it gets the job done. My friction bearings are pretty stout and seem like they would have a long life. What would you suggest and why? Thanks

If I was buying a disk harrow to use very much I would want anti-friction brgs on it.

Farmer buddy is running a selford after deep tilling. The discs are wavy.does an awesome job on the fields. Discer bearings- didint realize there were friction types.maybe its been a while and the bearings i used to sell were for old common type discs.

Sealed bearings are the way to go. Friction bearings used to be the only ones you'd find on a disc due to their durability, but now the sealed bearings are just as rugged and a lot less maintenance.
