Frontloader Not Working

I put my tractor (L245DT) with a Kubota 1200 FEL away yesterday. This morning I cannot get the FEL to raise. The rear PTO works fine. I'm disconnecting the FEL so I can finish my brush hog work, but would like some feedback on where to look for the problem. I see no hydraulic fluid leaking anywhere. Appreciate the feedback.

Might want to try to disconnect and reconnect your loader quick couplers again.

Or make sure they are on correctly.

I'm not sure I understand what you did. Does the unit use tractor hydraulics, or a front auxiliary pump. Did you disconnect it and reconnect it? If so, did you just disconnect the two tractor hydraulic lines, or the 4 loader lines. In order for the loader to work, you have to have fluid flow. You can screw it up if you have the cylinder return lines crossed - if you put the pressure to one side of a cylinder pair, but are using the return from the other cylinder pair. I do not remember having any quick disconnects on my L1200 loader.

Actually, I found the problem. There's a shaft that runs from the front of tractor engine into the hydraulic pump for the FEL. It sometimes doesn't spin. I'm in the process of taking everything off to get to it. I'm hoping that Kubota has a replacement for it. I took the FEL off and started to using the brush hog. About 15 minutes in I heard this horrible grating noise. I took the tractor back to the barn. I started the tractor and followed the sound. That's when I noticed this shaft. Whenever it wouldn't turn, the grating noise would start. I'm not sure what this shaft is called. I can't find a diagram that shows me that particular part. If anyone knows, let me know. I'd like to call Kubota and see if they have a replacement.
Thanks,
Bruce

It sounds like your splines gave up the ghost. There are modifications posted on the forum. I remember someone installed a double chain connection to the pump. Someone else used a Love-Joy coupling. But something needs to be fabricated because that's the only solution.
