Hi, Part of what I want to do with my new B2601 is do some grooming of a local private motocross track where I ride. The challenge is ... here in Elbert County Colorado ... and at this track in particular, sometimes the dirt is super hard ... and, I don't want to bend or break my three point hitch .... any suggestions?

Get a scarifier and put a ton of weight on top of it. Usually, that type of work is done with a bulldozer or road grader, not a tractor. Possibly a box blade with scarifier teeth in it will work.

Box blade. Drop the rippers. You should lose traction well before you break the 3 point.

Edit: And if you’re trying to create the track or reconfigure the track that would be for much heavier equipment such as dozer or CTL. If you’re just grooming what’s there, may be able to get it done.

If I were to give it a shot I would drop the box blade scarifers and pull the top link in so you don't get bogged down collecting dirt in the box.

I was gonna say rock it all the way forward to lift the blade as much as possible. Might have to try that. I'm getting ready to grade an area we cleared to turn the RV around. I was going to use the BB to chew it up, get small roots and such. Then rake it before smoothing it with the blade alone.

you might have to only use ONE ripper if the dirt's as hard as the slag fill next door was. B29xxx with BB could NOT chew through it even using just one tooth ! Took a real excavator to lift 'sections' of it then bust up with back of bucket. 'funny' stuff..once broken ,easy to move, then drive over a few times....dang got HARD real fast....
