I attached a brush hog and really could not lift it very high, even though the lever was pulled up, it did not really lift. I thought maybe the height of the lift arms needed adjusting, but after I removed the brush hog, the lever to raise or lower the lift arms is really, really tight( as it was with the brush hog attached) and not responding. I got the arms to go down, but it was very difficult , as is it was to raise them with the lever.(if they came up at all) I believe the fluids are ok, and I am hoping its something simple. The tractor only has about 250 hours. Any help appreciated. Thank you

I adjusted the speed knob counter clockwise which allowed the lifting arms to go down. However, they won't come back up. The odd thing is that I can lift the arms up, but they won't stay up. Ideas?

Do you have a loader on the tractor?
If so check all the quick connects.

And being able to lift the three point arms up and them not staying up is 100% normal, the three point floats, there is no down pressure.

Your tractor is a M5660 - file that for future use.

The knob only controls lowering speed and you had it closed off which prevents them from lowering. Thats now fixed.

Lifting the arms and then they drop is 100% normal.

So all thats left is why wont they lift. What other hydraulic equipment do you have on the tractor - backhoe, rear remotes, loader?

No loader. I am having the dealer pick it up tomorrow.
