Depth Control for mower deck not functioning properly

I have a BX2380. The depth control knob for mower deck began locking up. It will not turn past the "Top" position. When it locked up, I lifted up deck and removed it and was able to take the attached picture, which is the part that turns below deck when turning knob. With deck detached, the knob will turn, but clearly doesn't sound right. Any ideas? Any help greatly appreciated.

Clean it and lube it for starters.

Looks like the catch/ detent (#060) tap might be loose or bent.
