Debris under the fuel cap

I'm always afraid the debris that collects under the fuel cap is going to fall into the fuel tank. I've thought about putting a ziplock bag and a rubber band around it to keep it clean. Anybody got a better idea?

I have never noticed anything on the bottom of my fuel cap, but I don't do any mowing with my L3901DT, but I do chip wood and there is a lot of wood dust that is in the air. Do you mow with your L3800?

Yes. Mow, disk, grading.

What 'Cat said - if you get it too tight, it can actually stall the tractor if there is no air into/out of the cap.

Common problem for the "Runs for 20 minutes, then quits" questions.....
