Looking for a cylinder for top link on a L3901 I'm looking for double acting, 2" bore, 25" retracted length with 7" stroke.
Everything I find has a longer stroke.
Do you just get a cylinder with the unusable longer stroke?

a custom made Cat. 1 dble acting cyl in your size is about $200-$300 around here.
your sizing seems odd.
all I could suggest is ask your local shop to make you a custom one.
off seeding/harvest time a local shop should be able to get one out the door in a week.
unsure of course pricing and timing, i share as fyi what we would pay/expect for timing.

This is 20" retracted. Stock cylinder from Magister. I would say you are at least 5" too long.

Look at the following link. https://www.fitritehydraulics.com/toplink.html

Based on the asked for dimension, find a unit that has close to the same amount of adjustment in each direction.
I have found that a 20"-29" works well for your tractor model with the std 3pt hitch.

Do you have Pat's quick hitch ends? Thats the only possible reason to have a 25" retracted pin-pin measurement that I can think of and even then a 23"-35" unit would be better IMO.

Good luck. :)

Hey all, I have a Land Pride Quick Hitch.
I come up with the 25" retracted length because if I go shorter the hitch will hit the fender lights with lift arms are all the way up.
Say the top link is disconnected the hitch will only lay over so far before it binds on the lower lift arms. (top going away from the tractor)
That is how I came up with the 7" stroke

I suppose if you feel no need to ever be able to tilt your nimplements forward from basically level, then you will be all set with a 25" collapsed top link.

I can say that I doubt that there is ever a "good" reason to extend an implement angled back so far as that the quick hitch would bind on the lift arms.

I think you might want to consider other workarounds, such as installing a control lever lift stop and maybe be sure that your top link is installed in the top hole on the tractor side mount. Using the lower holes typically brings the implement up higher and the top link up closer to the tractor.

All things that you may want to consider.
