curl cylinder seal replacement help

hi all

working on my backhoe attachment now
seal on the curl cylinder blew
trying to rebuild it

I'm stuck trying to get locking keyway stock thing out
the "hook" other people talk about
dosent seem to be there

l tried drilling a little hole and tapping it out with a punch
but not working so far

hoping for some input/ideas

Once you have the end of the lock wire out and started, turning the gland should push the wire out...that is if everything is perfect-which it never is.

Do you have a pin spanner? It may help with turning the gland.

If the gland is just spinning, then the wire is broken and you'll need to yank it out, all while not breaking it in the hole so you can't grab it again.

Hi goatiemon, as Kenny says you can’t just pull it out. You need to use the 2 holes in the end cap to turn and drive the square wire out. A commercial pin spanner works or yo can make one as I did. IMG_0670.jpeg
