I have a frontier snow blower on the back of my kubota. I have a friend with a crushed stone driveway. Very manicured lawn. I have seen people move snow of it with a plow. Makes a mess. stones all over the lawn. I was thinking of trying to keep my blower 2 or 3 inches off the stone. and don't let the skids touch the stone. I was worried about still moving some stones along with the snow you push. How would you do it? Thanks. Filix

I tilt my blower backwards on the first few cleans to leave a 1" skim coat. Once it packs down I can can tilt forward to scrape without picking up stone.

I think the biggest challenge can be if there's much in the way of a crown on the driveway and if your blower has to straddle that. Also, depending on the condition of the driveway you might still blow stones at some point which isn't fun.

I used to blow snow on close to 400 yards of gravel driveway using a front mount blower on a BX, and since the blower was 4ft wide with little crown on the driveway, I was able to set up the skids so that I left somewhere around 3/4" of snow and didn't send gravel flying. Definitely a much better experience if the ground is frozen solid. Nowadays I push snow on gravel with an hydraulic angle blade, and use a rear mount blower on the asphalt.

Thanks mikester. I have a B7800. 30 hp 4 cy. I'm thinking back when the last time I used it. When I lift up the back it goes strait up. I don't think I could tilt it to a different angle. I could be wrong. If I go over there with it, I would have to buy or rent a trailer. Two axel I think.

You adjust the top link to change the angle of the three point attachments.

before I got my driveway paved, I fabbed up a center skid for my 64" 3PH blower. That helped a lot to keep the blower from digging into the driveway and throwing dirt & gravel.

Thanks bxr. Do you cut a table saw cerf down the center? and then stick it on the sharp edge?
Yes, I screwed it to a board and ran the board along the fence on my table saw.
I use a large rubber mallet to put it on.
Drop the blade just off the ground and pound the pipe on from the side.
I get about three to four years out of it but it will depend on the use it gets.

Front mount blower for me and gravel driveway about 3/4 mile long.

I removed the "cutting" edge from the blower and replaced it with iron pipe pieces.
I grooved the center enough to get it snug, drilled the existing holes in the pipe and bolted it on like the "cutting" edge.

Almost no rock throwing.

Also, not blowing until I can leave an inch or two to pack down on top of the driveway/rocks/gravel.
