I have a L3000F diesel I use around my property and at Hunting lease
I have not run it in a few months
Starter would not turn over, just click
I took starter off, tore down
Brushes were bad so I changed them
Starter worked good

Went to start, would not crank
Used a little ether and it fired up for a second
Pulled fuel line at tank and diesel ran out

So I have a fuel issue
Ran great last time I used it
So where do I start now???

Wendy.....first thing, ether is a four letter word with diesels.......true, many people have done it before - but it really is a bad thing to use!!!

Is fuel getting to injector pump?

Have you bled the injectors?

First off loosen the bleeder on top of the fuel filter and make sure you have fuel there. if not try replacing the filter. If so I'd probably take the line loose at the injector pump to see if fuel is at the pump. If so loosen the little knob on the pump fully to the left and crank it. If you have fuel there it should start. When/if it does be sure to tighten the knob back down. These tractors are very easy to work on as far as fuel system goes.

If you should have to drain the tank I'd be sure to install a inline fuel shut off. Makes it much easier to change the filter.
