It's takes energy to make energy and hydrogen doesn't have the best energy density.

This is what***8217;s happening in California. The Dairies are really being pressured to not release anything in to air. They are now catching the methane gas from Cow Manure. They are runing some pretty big engines generating a lot of power. The Dairies are now in compliance and producing electricity and selling it back to the utilities. This is one of the companies doing a lot of the projects in my area.

If you have hydrogen why run it through a heat engine to extract power at maybe 40% when you could run a fuel cell to make electricity and use the electricity to run a motor at 80% efficiency or better?. There will likely be a few more gasps but the internal combustion engine is almost dead!
