About a week ago I tried to move my wood chipper with the forks on my tractor. They had snow on them and it acted like grease. I dumped the chipper on its side. Lucky the oil fill was on the up hill side so no oil leaked out.
I didn't take any pictures of the chipper on its side. I straightened the three point mount and replaced the reversing handle with a long bolt.
Here is my answer to the chipper sliding on the forks.
I removed the skids dropped the legs and drilled a new set of holes so the legs were retracted all the way so the hight is about the same.
I bought a stick of box tubing and welded up a set of fork tubes instead of the skids that the chipper came with.
Now the chipper can de picked up from the front or the side with the fork pockets.
Hopefully I will get it painted this coming week.
