I have a new (to me) TG1860 garden tractor, with power steering. I assumed power steering meant some of the hydraulic power was used for power steering. Nope, it uses a rack and pinion assembly like what you would see in a car, with a little electric helper motor attached to the steering wheel shaft. I was surprised.
Anyway, the point of this is that this tractor's steering is geared funny. It takes many more turns of the steering wheel to produce movement at the front wheels than what I consider normal. So while mowing a typical yard with lots of things to avoid, you wind up really spinning the wheel a lot.
Now it is an 'easy' spin, because 'power steering', but I'd rather it react with more wheel movement for the steering input I'm giving.
Anyone have an idea on what I'd need to do to re-gear the steering?
