Cat 1 Cat 2 question

Hello all,
I'm curious about various Catagory attachments. I know the pins for connecting these are different sizes, I presume for larger attachments for cat 2. But after reading some, it looks like it's as much a question of matching an implement to the HP of the tractor as anything. Is that correct?
I don't see anything in my owners manual, but I believe my L3301 has a cat 1 hitch because of the size of the pins.

Yes, categories are determined by HP, but there is some overlap at the areas they meet.

Most of my implements are Cat1, the rest are Cat2. A couple of them have both Cat1 and Cat2 hook up points on them. I have two Cat1 tractors and a Cat2 tractor. Most of my Cat 1 implements are on the larger sized end of what a Cat1 will handle well, so I usually go for the Cat2 machine. There are bushings out there that fit on the pins to make your implement fit the next category up tractor in size, but you can't step down in category without maybe changing the pins out.
