Can’t engage pto

I just replaced the wire harness #2 and clutch safety switch on my 80s model B8200. Now it’s just grinding when I try the pto. I think I’ve screwed up the switch somehow. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Are you depressing the clutch prior to attempting to engage the PTO? If you're depressing the clutch you may not be waiting long enough for the gears to stop turning before attempting to engage. Also, try engaging the PTO while at idle, then come up to speed after it's engaged. It's better to depress the clutch when disengaging the PTO as well.
