Four year old snow blower hardly used as I have the plow and sweeper for lesser storms. Hooked and ready last storm and the augers would not turn. Shear bolts were fine long story short had to disassemble the whole blower and replace the spring pin inside the front gear box. Never abused or have hit any big rocks etc… anyone else had same luck? Little disappointed in Kubota I paid good money for this equipmen.

wow, man I feel sorry for you..... you'll probably have 10 HOURS into the repair for a $5 part.
'spring' pin is another name for a 'roll pin' or 'spiral pin' ?
I'm thinking it wiggled loose and jammed up the gears ?
if so wrong pin or wrong tool to install. Proper tool has a short, tapered cavity in end of it ,to allow 'spirol' to reduce in diameter without damage when installed.
I've also see instructions to put a SECOND pin inside the first ,for strength

be nice if dealer gave you the new pin as I bet he's NEVER seen that before !

Unless you are the person who made the YouTube video about this, you are the first or second person this has happened to.

Please advise the model number of your blower. I would like to look at parts illustrations.

Is the pin now the length of the round shaft..... I am guessing the ends of the pin were sheared off.
I would suspect something was jamming the blower fan and this pin acted like a shear pin.

I often get called from friends with walk behind blowers who have smoking belts. When I get there we put the blower somewhere warm with an electric heater fan blowing unto the blower fan area. After a little while the fan will turn. A small bit of ice was holding a lower fan blade against the fan housing.

Could you please post photos of the shear bolt location on your pto shaft and a photo of the head of the shear bolt. The shaft shear bolt should have let go before this roll pin.

This a a very common issue with spring pins, either wire or put a second roll pin inside of it to lock the roll pins in place.
