I have a BX2750D snowblower. I’m trying to find the proper right size grease fitting for the auger. Upon looking up the part number and getting one from my dealer the fitting is too long and too big to fit the hole in the shaft. The original part number is coincided to a new part number in that particular fitting is a quarter inch diameter with a threaded and that is too long it would hit against the shaft that’s inside of the tube that the auger blades are welded to. The hole in the auger tube appears to be about 3/16” and the grease fitting appears to be a punch type, no threads or any way to fit a wrench or socket on it.

Check the local auto parts store. It might be the type that you put into the hole, and then give it a rap with a hammer to seat it. I have never taken mine out, and I grease it once a year. The grease is only to keep the water from rusting the augers to the shafts. Once you have the shear pins in, the auger turns with the shaft, and there is no friction that requires greasing.

As mentioned above there are drive in fittings avaialbe . This should be greased every now and then. You don't want the shaft and auger to seize together from rusting. I bought a used snowblower and the shaft and auger were seized together from lack of grease. It was on heck of a time to free them up.

Thanks for your replies. I went to my local NAPA parts store and picked up some press in grease fittings, but they seem to be a bit long. But I’ll give it a try and see what happens. I didn’t take the fitting out on purpose apparently came out with the operation and use of the snowblower. But the part number for the proper fitting seems to be incorrect.
