I used my BX25D to launch my boat this weekend with the hitch at the front. Got too deep and the air intake took in water and blew water out exhaust. Tractor stalled. Have not tried to restart it. Where do I begin to troubleshoot and replace things to ensure no further damage?

You will likely need an engine overhaul. If the injectors aren’t pooched I’d be suprised. Hopefully you have the shop and means of doing it yourself or could be quite a hefty bill .

You should look into an Argo. They float.

Replace the air filter.
Remove the glow plugs and crank the engine. Blow any water in there out. Put the glow plugs back in and crank the engine. As long as you did not hydro-lock the engine, you will probably be OK. If you messed it up, you will know PDQ. If damaged, trying to start after you have cleared any water will not cause further damage.
Good luck!

Pull the glow plugs and spit the water out.
Then do a compression test, that's going to tell you how bad you messed up.
If it's low you've bent the connecting rods and will need a complete rebuild.

Yeah this too I agree , but if it’s puking water from the exhaust it’s likely ran it’s course. Maybe I’m wrong

Too bad you didn't do a video, would be entertaining.

I tend to agree with that scenario. Some of the cylinders were still operating or it wouldn't have been pumping water. It probably stalled when enough cylinders were converted to pumps and couldn't keep the engine running.
Pull the injectors and turn it over a few times. Check the oil for any water, although if not submerged it's unlikely it was contaminated. Squirt some oil in the cylinders or WD-40 while cranking with the injectors out. Make sure it has dissipated BEFORE you attempt to re-start the engine. WD-40 is liquid dynamite in the right quantities.

My son did the same thing to our BX23 a couple of years ago in our pond. Change of air filter and pull the glow plugs. Crank it over a few times until you don't get any more water out. Put the glow plugs back in and start it up. I've had no long lasting problems.
